SQE is more than a new name. It’s a new model of energy supply.

When we launched Squeaky in 2016, our focus was small businesses and clean power.

That focus evolved as we saw a bigger opportunity—and a much bigger problem—in industrial and commercial energy supply.

Industrial and commercial (I&C) buyers now face a complex, high-stakes challenge: decarbonise, reduce costs, and gain control—without the tools to do it. Meanwhile, the energy system behind the scenes has moved on. It’s cleaner. More dynamic. More volatile.

But the way energy is supplied—contracted, billed, traced, and controlled—hasn’t changed in decades.

So we built something new.

Welcome to SQE

Today, Squeaky becomes SQE: a new kind of energy supply platform for large energy users.

Not just a rebrand—a rebuild. Because you can’t bolt new ideas onto broken infrastructure. We started over. We created our own supply licence, built a multi-party marketplace, and engineered our own platform—SQEos—to give buyers real power over how they procure, trace, and manage energy.

“You can’t keep bolting new ideas onto broken infrastructure. We built SQE as a platform so we could create the products energy buyers actually need.”— Chris Bowden, CEO

Designed for the real work of energy buying

SQE isn’t an energy supplier with a digital front end. It’s a programmable platform designed around how modern businesses actually operate.

  • Delivery matters → So we became a licensed supplier
  • Choice matters → So we connect buyers directly with generators
  • Execution matters → So we built our own tech from scratch

With SQE, you get:

  • Matched Clean Energy — guaranteed real-time clean power
  • Integrated DSR (DSR) — flexibility built into your supply
  • Modern Billing — with interval-level accuracy and digital reconciliation
  • Data You Can Use — for Scope 2, for strategy, for action

Whether you want traceable clean power or just an energy partner who makes things work—SQE gives you control without complexity.

The infrastructure layer for an electrified economy

This is more than a change in look and feel. SQE is built to serve a new kind of energy buyer—one who expects infrastructure-grade performance, not spreadsheet-era service.

We’re here to make that possible.

Welcome to SQE.
