  • Energy supply platform appoints senior energy industry leaders to drive growth across broker sales, customer operations and customer experience.
  • New hires bring decades of experience from leading energy suppliers including TotalEnergies, Opus Energy and SNRG.
  • Appointments mark the latest step in SQE’s expansion as it scales its technology-enabled supply platform for I&C buyers.

Wednesday 10 June, 2026: SQE - an energy supply platform exclusively for industrial and commercial (I&C) energy users - has bolstered its leadership team with two senior appointments and a key executive promotion as the business accelerates its growth strategy.

The London-based company has appointed Kelly Power as Head of TPI Sales and Gemma Newsham as Head of Customer Operations, while Glyn Britton has been promoted from Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to Chief Experience Officer (CXO).

The appointments come as SQE continues to rapidly expand following its relaunch from Squeaky Energy in Autumn 2025. The business evolved to address the growing complexity and high stakes challenges facing I&C energy buyers as they seek to reduce costs, decarbonise operations and gain greater control over energy purchasing.

As part of the company’s new business model, SQE has secured its own supply licence, built a multi-party marketplace, and engineered its own platform - SQEos - to give buyers ownership of how they procure, trace, and manage energy. The leadership appointments reflect growing demand from larger organisations seeking more flexible and data-driven approaches to energy management.

Together, the appointments strengthen three areas central to the company's next phase of growth: customer experience, channel expansion and customer operations, helping to de-risk expansion as the business scales its reach across the I&C market.

Power brings 25 years of experience in the UK energy market, including more than a decade leading indirect sales at TotalEnergies. During her career, she managed one of the UK's largest broker portfolios, covering more than 50 third-party intermediaries (TPIs), 9,000 customers, 67,000 sites and 23.4TWh of annual demand. She also played a key role in developing flexible procurement solutions and commercial structures for sophisticated energy buyers. At SQE, she will lead the development of a dedicated broker sales organisation and expand the company's reach through the TPI market.

Newsham joins with more than 20 years’ experience spanning customer operations, regulation, compliance and operational transformation. Most recently, she led customer operations at SNRG, overseeing core operational functions and helping prepare the business for growth. Previously, as Regulations Director at Opus Energy, she built the company's regulatory function from the ground up and became one of its leading experts on energy policy and market reform. In this new appointment, Newsham will focus on scaling customer operations, onboarding, billing, reconciliation and service delivery, ensuring customers continue to receive a frictionless service.

Britton's promotion to Chief Experience Officer reflects SQE's commitment to delivering a seamless customer experience as the organisation expands. With more than 25 years of experience building and scaling challenger brands including Skype, giffgaff, Compare the Market, Zoopla and Bionic, he will now bring together brand, product, customer experience and go-to-market functions under a single leadership structure.

Commenting on the appointments, Chris Bowden, founder and CEO at SQE, said: "These senior appointments represent an important milestone in SQE's growth journey. We’re investing ahead of demand by bringing in proven industry leaders who have built teams, processes and capabilities at scale. Kelly and Gemma have exceptional track records in their respective fields and their experience will be invaluable as we continue to partner with I&C users.

"Businesses today expect more from their energy supplier than a standard supply contract. In our complex and volatile energy market, you can’t keep bolting new ideas onto broken infrastructure, which is why we’ve built something new for I&C energy users. They need sophisticated procurement options, enterprise-grade service and technology that gives them greater visibility and control over their energy strategy. Strengthening our leadership team ensures we have the expertise, operational capability and customer focus to meet those expectations and support our next phase of growth."

The appointments reflect SQE's continued investment in the people, processes and leadership capability required to scale. They also signal the company's transition from a founder-led start-up into a business building the organisational depth and operational structure needed to support long-term growth in the I&C energy market.
