Our story, in short
We launched as Squeaky Energy eight years ago, serving micro businesses with simple, clean energy solutions. As the market changed and our business evolved, we repositioned to focus on large industrial and commercial users. That shift needed a name that reflects the complexity, scale and professionalism of what we deliver today — and that’s SQE (pronounced ‘ess-cue-ee’).
Why the change
We’ve evolved from a challenger brand for micro businesses into a platform built for the world’s largest energy users. The new name reflects that step up: bigger in scale, broader in scope, and more serious about impact. It marks the next chapter in our journey — one that keeps our founding mission intact, but equips us to deliver it at industrial scale.
Why “clean” is no longer in the name
Our mission is still to accelerate the world’s transition to clean energy. But there isn’t one easy fix. Every business is different and needs a tailored approach. That’s why we’ve moved beyond simply labelling ourselves “clean.” Instead, SQE leads the industry past greenwash stickers and into real supply — contractually guaranteed, auditable, and built for the realities of I&C energy.
